Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Storage Backup Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a contract basis. This role demands proven expertise in managing and maintaining Veeam Backup & Replication alongside storage administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer backup and storage environments.
• Maintain and optimize Veeam Backup & Replication systems to ensure highest performance and reliability.
• Conduct routine backup and restore tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Work collaboratively with Level 3 support and IT teams to address complex backup and recovery challenges.
• Develop, implement, and document backup and disaster recovery strategies in compliance with company policies.
• Optimize backup scheduling and storage usage to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
• Deliver training and support to Level 1 staff to boost team capabilities.
• Configure backup tasks adhering to policies and ensuring data restoration within SLA limits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues affecting backup and recovery.
• Monitor storage systems for availability, performance, and capacity.
• Handle connectivity troubleshooting between hosts and storage systems.
• Manage switch administration tasks, including firmware updates.
• Investigate and resolve storage alerts, faults, and hardware failures.
• Oversee capacity management of storage devices in the infrastructure.

Desired Skills and Competencies

• Strong expertise and hands-on experience with Veeam Backup Solutions.
• Practical knowledge of storage administration involving Dell EMC, HPE, and NetApp products.
• Possession of Veeam certification is advantageous.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, particularly afternoon and night shifts.
