Steward

About the Role

The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in kitchen work zones while ensuring the proper handling and upkeep of restaurant utensils and equipment. Supporting both culinary and service teams, this position plays an integral role in sustaining a sanitary, safe, and efficient environment that enhances guests' dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly sweep and mop floors to uphold cleanliness.
• Manually wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware or use dishwashing machinery.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces including worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen areas.
• Manage garbage disposal and maintain cleanliness of trash containers.
• Sort and handle recyclable materials such as bottles properly.
• Polish silverware and utensils when necessary.
• Transport supplies and equipment between storage and kitchen areas.
• Assist in banquet table setups as needed.
• Wash and peel vegetables or aid in light food preparation tasks.
• Organize and rotate stock in storage areas, maintaining tidiness.
• Perform additional assigned duties as required.

Educational Requirement

• High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
