Steward

Position Overview

The Steward role at Marriott International in Tirana, Albania, involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The Steward is responsible for washing and sanitizing kitchen areas, storage rooms, tables, tools, utensils, knives, and other equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage cleaning equipment and tools effectively.
• Ensure dishes and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and appropriately stored.
• Receive and properly store deliveries, including perishables, with proper stock rotation.
• Operate the 3-compartment sink using detergents and sanitizers for cleaning.
• Inspect cleaned items, handle sorting and re-cleaning as needed, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain dumpster and recycling areas.
• Perform physical tasks which include moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and various bending and reaching actions.
• Report maintenance issues and unsafe conditions promptly; complete safety training and adhere to all safety and security policies.
• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate professionally with others.
• Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by Supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications

• No educational requirement such as high school diploma or GED is necessary.
• No prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required.
• No certifications or licenses are necessary.
