About the Role
Constance Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Steward to join their team at Constance Le Chaland in Plaine Magnien, Mauritius. Nestled on the scenic southeastern coast with pristine beaches and a serene atmosphere, this location offers a tranquil environment fostering teamwork, learning, and delivering exquisite hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout designated areas, including kitchen premises, ensuring impeccable tidiness at all times.
- Provide clean and sanitized equipment, fixtures, fittings, and equipment (FF&E) promptly to relevant staff.
- Apply appropriate cleaning and sanitizing standards and methods consistently.
- Operate dishwashers and pot wash equipment as required, and store equipment properly.
- Dispose of garbage by clearing bins regularly and report any breakages or damages.
- Conduct inventory checks for amenities and supplies.
- Promptly report any equipment breakdowns or service issues and ensure swift resolution.
- Comply strictly with environmental management standards and relevant legislation during operations.
- Adhere to hotel dress code, appearance, and conduct guidelines.
- Maintain a safe work environment by encouraging safe work behaviors and following emergency procedures such as fire alarms.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives, promote environmental awareness, and suggest improvements aligned with the Green Globe Policy.
- Immediately notify supervisors of any faults or repairs needed.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum education: Middle or secondary school completion; additional relevant training or certificates are advantageous.
- At least 1 year of experience in the hotel industry is required.
- Experience in luxury resort settings is a strong advantage.
- Possession of a valid food handler certificate is mandatory.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities coupled with effective problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and responsible with ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with capacity to collaborate well with colleagues.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); proficiency in an additional language is beneficial.
