Statutory Accounting Manager

About the Role

Meta is seeking a seasoned qualified accountant to join its International Statutory Controllership Team. The individual in this senior role will take ownership of a global statutory controllership process and act as the entity controller for Meta’s Latin American entities. The role demands a robust combination of technical statutory accounting knowledge and leadership in automation and AI-driven transformations, redefining the controllership function for a tech-centric organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a global statutory control and governance process, ensuring consistent standards, strong controls, and ongoing enhancements across Meta’s international entities.
• Serve as entity controller for multiple Latin American subsidiaries, guaranteeing adherence to local GAAP, regulatory frameworks, and Meta’s consolidated reporting standards.
• Drive automation and artificial intelligence initiatives to streamline and scale accounting and compliance tasks in diverse legal environments.
• Exercise expert technical judgment on complex statutory accounting challenges spanning multiple jurisdictions.
• Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to ensure statutory compliance while supporting fast-growing markets.
• Design and implement scalable, tech-enabled processes aligned with evolving operating models.
• Maintain strong internal controls, complying fully with governance, regulatory, and SOX mandates.
• Clearly convey intricate accounting and regulatory topics to senior management, auditors, and collaborative teams.

Essential Qualifications and Expertise

• Professional qualification as an accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) with over seven years of post-qualification experience in statutory accounting or financial reporting.
• Extensive knowledge of statutory accounting and local compliance for international entities across several jurisdictions.
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is advantageous though not mandatory.
• Proven success in leading process automation or transformational projects within accounting or finance functions.
• Strong influence and communication capabilities to operate effectively at a senior individual contributor level and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
• Practical understanding of IFRS and local GAAP standards and their application in a multinational, multi-entity setting.
• Experience utilizing AI and automation tools to enhance productivity and the quality of outputs.

• Knowledge of AI governance as it pertains to financial reporting.
• Experience embedding AI technologies to optimize workflows with tangible benefits like efficiency gains and improved quality.
• Continuous development in AI competencies such as prompt engineering and agent orchestration, with a keen interest in emerging AI trends.
• Adaptability and a track record of fast learning new tools and work methodologies.
• Experience supporting business growth or regulatory changes in complex markets.
• Familiarity with designing or deploying AI/automation solutions in finance contexts.
• Committed to responsible and ethical AI use, encompassing risk assessments, bias mitigation, and quality assurance.
• Direct hands-on experience with statutory accounting and compliance obligations.
