Staff Technical Product Marketing Manager, Context Engineering

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to lead efforts in positioning, messaging, and driving adoption of MongoDB’s AI and agentic context solutions. This critical role suits a technically minded marketer who approaches challenges like a builder. Many AI systems fail not due to poor models but because they lack essential context—MongoDB delivers that vital foundation at multiple points in the AI pipeline.

Core Responsibilities

• Own the strategic direction for MongoDB’s context engineering portfolio, including MCP Server, Agent Skills, and VoyageAI, aligning product roadmap and go-to-market strategies with MongoDB's overarching business goals in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead go-to-market activities by developing data-driven messaging, positioning, and detailed persona profiling aimed at agent developers, coding agents, and platform teams, with an emphasis on reaching developers through IDEs, CLIs, and plugin marketplaces.
• Create in-depth technical content that clearly communicates how MongoDB's developer tools integrate—covering aspects such as connectivity, guardrails, and infrastructure—to enable developers and agents to produce production-quality MongoDB code.
• Act as a subject matter expert on agentic engineering adoption, analyzing usage metrics such as MCP tool-call volumes, Agent Skills adoption, and plugin installations across platforms including Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and VS Code, synthesizing insights for internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Plan and execute product launch strategies for new agent tooling features aimed at increasing adoption rates and revenue growth.

Candidate Profile

• 7 to 10 years of experience in product marketing, product management, developer relations, or solutions engineering within B2B technology sectors such as AI/ML, cloud computing, or developer tools, demonstrating consistent success.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-evolving, high-growth environment, trusted to craft and implement strategies aligned with business objectives.
• A data-driven approach to decision-making, utilizing analytical insights in daily activities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of influencing diverse cross-functional teams and senior executives, and delivering clear perspectives to leadership.
• Deep knowledge of the agentic development ecosystem, including Model Context Protocol, coding agent tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Codex), and related CI/CD and cloud infrastructure, with the capability to link technical products to business outcomes.
• Empathy towards developers’ and platform teams’ challenges, understanding their use cases and technical implementation hurdles when adopting coding agents.
• A proactive mindset with the aptitude to dissect problems into actionable solutions and follow through across teams.
• Humble yet confident representation of the company in executive customer discussions, analyst briefings, and public appearances.
