Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer within the Revenue Intelligence team, you will lead the technical vision and execution across a wide range of systems that empower hospitality businesses to analyze demand, identify revenue opportunities, and optimize pricing and commercial strategies. Your scope includes customer-facing web applications, backend APIs, event-driven services, data pipelines, analytical databases, recommendation engines, and cloud infrastructure.

This role demands hands-on leadership: solving complex engineering challenges, setting architectural direction, enhancing system reliability and security, mitigating technical debt, and aligning multiple teams behind sustainable technical solutions. Your influence will extend beyond feature delivery to shaping platform quality, scalability, maintainability, and future evolution.

The Revenue Intelligence Team

This team designs and builds platforms and products that transform hospitality data into actionable insights, including pricing recommendations, demand analytics, reporting, automation, and business opportunities. Technologies span frontend interfaces, distributed APIs and services, data processing, machine learning pipelines, and production infrastructure. The team values pragmatic engineering, strong accountability, data-driven decision-making, and leadership that empowers others.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the technical strategy for Revenue Intelligence, translating product and business objectives into coherent architecture and executable plans.
• Lead engineering design and implementation of complex capabilities across web applications, backend services, event-driven workflows, data pipelines, and recommendation systems.
• Proactively identify and address systemic issues affecting scalability, reliability, security, data integrity, observability, and operational readiness before they impact customers or engineering teams.
• Drive incremental modernization and migration of legacy systems ensuring continuous delivery and production stability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Data Science, Infrastructure, Security, and other engineering leads to define platform ownership, boundaries, and strategic direction.
• Maintain hands-on coding involvement through development, prototypes, architectural reviews, debugging, incident response, and tackling the most challenging technical problems.
• Enhance organizational technical capabilities through mentorship, architectural guidance, setting engineering standards, documentation, and fostering constructive technical discussions.

Experience and Qualifications

• Over 10 years in software engineering roles with significant experience providing technical leadership across complex production environments.
• Extensive practical expertise in Python programming with broad understanding of multiple technology ecosystems and influence on engineering decisions beyond single-language contexts.
• Strong foundation in software architecture and distributed systems principles including API design, event-driven architectures, consistency models, fault tolerance, scalability, and service boundaries.
• Experience with data-heavy systems such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, or similar analytical data platforms, including batch and streaming data pipelines and large-scale data processing.
• Proven experience designing or managing recommendation engines, machine learning platforms, pricing algorithms, experimentation systems, or other decision-support tools.
• Solid cloud and platform engineering skills using AWS, containerization, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and secure production operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, aligning multi-team efforts, communicating complex tradeoffs, and converting ambiguous requirements into actionable solutions.
• Track record of improving code quality through robust testing strategies, operational preparedness, incident response learning, security enhancements, clear documentation, and sustainable technical standards.
• Strong product sense and customer empathy, connecting technical initiatives to measurable business and hospitality outcomes.
• Business-level English proficiency and experience collaborating effectively in a fully distributed, remote international team.

Desirable Skills

• Advanced proficiency in .NET and C# development.
