About the Role
Mercury is a fintech company building innovative financial infrastructure for entrepreneurs and businesses. We empower users to interact programmatically and intelligently with their financial stack, focusing on products like Command, CLI, and MCP that leverage artificial intelligence. This Staff Product Manager position focuses on accelerating our AI initiatives to create a programmable and intelligent financial platform.
Responsibilities
- Gain in-depth insight into how our most technical users currently use Mercury’s products and identify unmet needs.
- Drive the product vision for Mercury’s AI capabilities, including Command, CLI, and MCP, transforming user financial interactions.
- Develop strategies for integrating Mercury’s AI tools with external AI ecosystems, orchestrating automated workflows end to end.
- Own and evolve the Mercury API roadmap, expanding it from niche read-heavy usage to a comprehensive developer platform.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to make complex technical decisions regarding interfaces, API design, data access, and functionality.
- Partner with growth and partnerships teams to leverage AI products as a competitive advantage for user acquisition and retention.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong leadership engagement and high expectations for innovation.
Ideal Qualifications
- Passion for AI advancements and direct experience building AI-driven products.
- Strong opinions and sound judgment about AI product viability and potential pitfalls.
- 10+ years of experience in product leadership or founding roles with comprehensive ownership of product decisions.
- Proficiency across the technical stack and hands-on experience with AI, including familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks, and agent harnesses.
- Experience designing products for developers and technical users.
- Comfort working within a leadership-involved culture and executing strategic roadmaps in emerging product areas.

Compensation and Benefits
Our total rewards package includes competitive base salary, equity through stock options or RSUs, and comprehensive benefits. Salary ranges are regularly updated according to industry standards and vary based on experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal parity.
- For Canadian employees: CAD 225,900 - 282,400 annually.
- For U.S. employees: $239,000 - $298,800 annually.
