Role Overview

The Staff Product Manager will lead the LLMX internal AI platform, responsible for managing the runtime, orchestration, evaluation, and observability layer essential for all AI features across MaintainX's product teams. This role plays a pivotal part in defining strategic decisions that impact every AI-driven capability at the company. The position is hybrid and based in either the San Francisco or Toronto offices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire LLMX platform roadmap, focusing on adoption and performance metrics such as integration speed, evaluation coverage, response latency, and cost efficiency.
• Define core platform elements including routing agents, skill orchestration, human-in-the-loop mechanisms, agent memory, conversation simplification, and the conversational interface used company-wide to enable next-generation AI features.
• Oversee the evaluation infrastructure involving real-time monitoring, dataset advancement, and gating mechanisms to ensure quality as production agents increase.
• Collaborate proactively with product teams across MaintainX to anticipate future agentic feature requirements and address emerging demands before they become obstacles.
• Drive strategic decisions regarding building, purchasing, or integrating AI models, providers, and infrastructure while staying updated with the latest developments in LLMs and agentic AI technology.

Candidate Profile

• Over 10 years of product management experience, with strong expertise in AI platforms, machine learning infrastructure, or developer platforms.
• Proven track record of launching AI services that support other teams, possessing deep understanding of building and maintaining trust with users.
• Well-informed perspectives on key AI topics including model selection, retrieval-augmented generation versus fine-tuning, agentic system architectures, evaluation frameworks, and optimizing latency and costs.
• Aptitude for balancing the needs of internal platform users and enterprise customers relying on these AI capabilities.
• Strong commercial awareness aligning platform investments with enterprise priorities, market positioning, and sales processes.
• Dedicated approach to staying current on LLMs and agentic AI innovations without distraction from every new release.
• Data-driven mindset focused on defining success metrics, implementing effective instrumentation, and using evaluations to maintain quality at scale.
• Experience or knowledge in industrial operations or asset management is advantageous.
