Role Overview

The Staff Product Manager role focuses on defining and constructing core product primitives that make Connect's platform adaptable across industries, geographies, and emerging AI-driven business models. This position is a blend of strategic planning and hands-on product execution to simplify sophisticated financial infrastructure for users and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the creation and evolution of next-generation Connect accounts by translating strategic goals into detailed roadmaps and delivering high-quality product launches.
• Focus on solving real platform challenges such as onboarding diverse sellers and supporting complex business models by developing foundational product primitives.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to develop intuitive APIs and product experiences that combine depth with user simplicity.
• Anticipate and prepare for AI-driven changes impacting platform economics, participant behavior, and payment workflows by investing in foundational technology.
• Convert user insights and feedback from multiple teams into scalable, durable platform features that address broad business and user needs.
• Drive efficient and high-quality product delivery while taking ownership of outcomes like developer adoption, platform growth, and user satisfaction rather than just feature releases.

Candidate Profile

• Experienced product builder adept at balancing complex user problems, business opportunities, and solution design.
• Practiced in managing technically intricate products such as APIs, developer tools, or shared platform components, motivated by improving user and business outcomes rather than technology for its own sake.
• Opinionated and execution-focused with the ability to prioritize critical decisions, create momentum in ambiguous environments, and deliver impactful, high-quality products.

Minimum Qualifications

• Over 7 years of product management experience with significant responsibility for platform, API, or developer-facing products from inception to delivery.
• Proven track record owning complete product areas including strategy definition, execution management, and outcome measurement.
• Strong analytical skills comfortable with defining success metrics prior to product launch.
• Effective written communication and ability to build cross-functional alignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
• Experience transforming custom or bespoke product requests into broadly available platform capabilities.
• Demonstrated foresight in making foundational investments anticipating future user demand.

Work Arrangement

This role is offered as remote (35+ miles from an office) or in-office in Toronto, Canada. Employees with assigned offices are expected to spend at least half their time on-site monthly to foster collaboration, while remote employees work regularly from home with occasional visits to the office for events or meetings.

Compensation and Benefits

The U.S. base salary range for this role is $214,300 to $321,500 annually. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses or commissions, 401(k) plans, comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and wellness stipends. Salary ranges are adjusted based on location and candidate qualifications.
