Team Overview

The Consumer Sensing and Signal processing Solutions (CSS) team specializes in capacitive sensing, optical image stabilization, and optical sensing technologies. Role Summary

We are seeking a passionate Physical Design Engineer to join our Consumer Product development team. This role involves creating mixed-signal subsystems for future consumer products that combine digital signal processing, embedded microprocessors, and precision analog components. The position offers hands-on experience with advanced physical design methodologies and exposure to diverse technical disciplines. The role is based in our offices in Valencia, Cork, or Limerick.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design floorplans, and manage power, ground, and clock distribution networks.
  • Perform logic synthesis, cell placement, and routing of interconnections.
  • Conduct equivalence checking, achieve timing closure, and carry out physical verifications such as LVS and DRC.
  • Collaborate closely with RTL designers to resolve complex design challenges.
  • Take ownership and deliver substantial digital subsystems.
  • Plan project schedules and track development progress.
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams across various geographic sites.

Qualifications

  • B.Tech or M.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication Engineering.
  • Over 10 years’ experience in digital implementation design.
  • Expertise in floorplanning, placement and routing, clock tree synthesis, static timing analysis, ECO methodologies, power analysis, and physical design validation.
  • Extensive background in synthesis and crafting timing constraints.
  • Proven experience with 40nm digital design implementation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, SKILL, and Perl.
  • Familiarity with current industry implementation tools, preferably Cadence.
  • Experience using version control software like Perforce or Methodics.
  • Knowledge of CPF/UPF low-power design methodologies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso tool is beneficial.
  • Understanding of foundry manufacturing rules and capability to prepare tape-out ready GDSII layouts is a plus.
  • Ability to take technical ownership and manage implementation tasks independently as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills essential.
