SPFx Architect - Power Platform

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned SPFx Architect to lead solution design initiatives involving SharePoint Online, SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and Power Platform. This pivotal role involves setting architectural direction, deciding build-versus-buy frameworks, defining governance protocols, and assuring solutions are secure, scalable, and maintainable. While strong technical expertise in prototyping and code review is required, the primary focus lies in design leadership and establishing development standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of end-to-end solution architectures for SPFx and Power Platform projects, translating requirements into documented target designs.
• Lead technical decision-making processes including selection between SPFx and Power Platform, choice of canvas versus model-driven apps, and determining data layers such as Dataverse versus SharePoint.
• Design authentication and security strategies involving Entra ID app registrations, permission scope, least-privilege consent, and API integrations through Microsoft Graph.
• Establish and uphold development guidelines, application lifecycle management strategies, environment governance, tenant policies, and reusable component frameworks across teams.
• Provide architectural governance through design reviews and mentoring of leads and developers.
• Consult with clients and stakeholders on modernization paths, evaluating platform capabilities and balancing effort versus complexity in solution proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks concerning performance, licensing constraints, tenant limits, and long-term maintainability.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive architecture experience with SharePoint Online, SPFx, and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• In-depth knowledge of Power Platform components including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse, alongside environment planning and data loss prevention/governance.
• Strong understanding of Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, and security/identity frameworks within M365.
• Exceptional ability to create clear architectural artifacts including solution and integration designs, and governance documentation.
• Demonstrated success in delivering architecture solutions adopted and built by development teams.
• 10 or more years of professional experience in SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environments with proven architecture ownership.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with SharePoint on-premises (2019, SPSE) and hybrid architecture supporting mid-migration clients.
• Exposure to Copilot Studio and AI-driven solution design methodologies.
• Experience integrating Azure services such as Functions, Logic Apps, and API Management for extended M365 functionality.
• PowerShell scripting expertise for Microsoft 365 administration and workflow automation.

Soft Skills

• Capability to defend design decisions confidently with clients and internal teams.
• Excellent written communication skills for producing architecture documentation and aiding proposal development.
