Role Responsibilities
- Conduct client-specific assessments and manage a discipline-focused caseload including complex cases through a case management approach.
- Contribute to selecting and maintaining assessment and therapy tools and resources.
- Design, execute, monitor, and adjust individualized therapy programs aligned with client goals.
- Deliver therapy services in various environments such as clinics, homes, schools, and community settings.
- Collaborate with allied health colleagues to optimize client outcomes and facilitate programs like group therapy and parent workshops.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards consistently.
- Stay current with best practices and engage in continuous service enhancements.
- Develop and manage comprehensive therapy programs including initial assessments, goal setting, targeted interventions, and collaboration with other professionals such as psychologists.
- Prepare session plans and home activities, perform school and home visits, monitor client progress, adjust goals accordingly, and complete necessary reviews and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for additional services or group participation where appropriate.
- Record treatment notes in the practice management system within 24 hours post-session.
- Produce timely, high-quality reports for clients, families, other health professionals, and NDIA stakeholders according to organizational standards.
- Document and report any client incidents or complaints in designated systems.
- Align therapy interventions with clients’ funding plans, review NDIS plans if applicable, and ensure accurate invoicing information is provided.
- Participate actively in team meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions to support professional development.
- Maintain precise records as per organizational guidelines and management direction.
- Engage in ongoing learning opportunities to enhance role-specific skills.
- Adhere to policies related to workplace health and safety, emergency protocols, child safety, and cultural competence.
- Contribute to risk assessment and prevention activities within the workplace.
- Build and sustain professional networks and collaborations with agencies and professionals in allied fields.
- Maintain relevant registration and memberships with professional bodies and comply with applicable codes of conduct.
- Uphold client confidentiality as mandated by organizational policies and legislation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience with solution-focused therapy approaches and early intervention strategies.
- Ability to provide individualized services tailored to each client’s unique needs.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with children, families, and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, communication, observational, and report-writing skills.
- Capability to operate both independently in community settings and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant qualifications in Speech Pathology with registrations: AHPRA and Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
- Compliance requirements including NDIS Workers Screening Check, current driver’s licence and vehicle, Working with Children or Vulnerable People Check, National Police Check, and an accredited First Aid Certificate.
