Job Overview
This role involves performing precise calibrations on Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in a laboratory setting to maintain compliance with international standards and optimize equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out calibrations on TMDE as part of daily laboratory operations.
- Support calibration technicians by assisting in minor repairs and calibration services for clients' test equipment.
- Ensure all laboratory equipment complies with Metrological Traceability per the International System of Units (SI).
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and intermediate checks on Al TAIF reference standards and other equipment to maximize operational uptime.
- Verify and validate calibration report data according to ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and relevant accreditation standards.
- Develop and validate uncertainty measurement computation spreadsheets based on ISO-GUM guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to approved technical manuals, laboratory procedures, and work instructions.
- Manage inventories of consumables, tools, and equipment within the calibration lab.
- Provide technical assistance to colleagues within the laboratory’s capacity.
- Engage in interlaboratory and intralaboratory comparisons and quality checks to ensure consistent calibration quality.
- Assist in planning and implementing corrective and preventive actions related to audit non-conformances.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and technical records, including uncertainty measurement calculations, accessible to all lab members.
- Uphold the regulations and requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and accreditation bodies for the calibration laboratory.
- Participate actively in the organization's risk management program by understanding the approved risk framework and identifying potential risks in calibration processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A high school diploma is mandatory; a bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, is advantageous.
- At least five years of professional experience in calibration or related activities is required.
- Competency in performing and formulating uncertainty measurement computations is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is necessary.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
- Experience of a minimum of two years in a supervisory role within a calibration laboratory is preferred.
