Role Overview
The Gunsmith will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying firearms to meet engineering specifications and quality requirements. Collaborating closely with Product Maintenance and Quality teams, the role demands troubleshooting firearm problems, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring the safe handling and testing of weapons.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and diagnose issues with firearms and their components.
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, reassemble, and test the functionality of firearms.
- Modify and fit firearm parts as per technical drawings and customer demands.
- Use hand tools, workshop machinery, and precision measuring devices to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Assist with quality control inspections and ensure the safe operation of firearms during maintenance.
- Adhere strictly to health, safety, environmental (HSE) protocols, quality benchmarks, and internal policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Technical or High School Diploma relevant to the field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Gunsmith or Firearms Maintenance Technician.
- Proficient in handling hand and power tools, gauges, and workshop equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately.
- Strong mechanical skills combined with excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications
- Background in defense sector or small arms manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of firearm production, maintenance, and repair methods.
- Experience with metalworking, machining, or woodworking techniques.
