About the Role
Join one of the world’s leading international express delivery companies, active in over 220 countries and territories, as a Sort Agent based at the Bahrain Hub in Muharraq. As a vital part of our "Insanely Customer Centric" team, you will contribute to global connectivity by ensuring high-quality sorting and processing of cargo shipments, ultimately enhancing customer service and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Air Cargo Services (ACS) sorting activities aligned with shift schedules and operational priorities.
- Complete all operational controls and network tracking tasks precisely and within given timeframes to meet performance goals.
- Adhere strictly to ACS processes for handling inbound, outbound, and transit shipments.
- Sort, prepare, and transfer ACS cargo and paperwork shipments to the appropriate internal teams, Ground Handling Agents, or third-party providers.
- Work collaboratively with Bahrain Hub Handling & Ground teams to manage outbound ACS shipments and Estimated Time of Shipments (ETS) requirements.
- Maintain accurate data entries for shipments in the OCNT system and other DHL operational platforms ensuring compliance with service standards.
- Reload cargo according to instructions, following GSOP procedures.
- Build Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and palletize cargo safely and correctly, ensuring compliance with prescribed safety protocols.
- Handle all ACS shipments with appropriate loading, securing, and safety measures adhering to DHL’s operational and security standards.
- Identify damaged shipments, report them immediately, segregate them securely for repacking or investigation to prevent further issues.
- Support initiatives aimed at operational improvements and help achieve department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in the training and orientation of new team members whenever required.
- Exhibit flexibility by supporting other operational departments based on business needs.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1 to 2 years of experience in logistics, cargo handling, warehouse management, or express transportation sectors.
- Require a valid forklift license for operational tasks.
- Well-versed in cargo handling procedures and ULD construction.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and coordination.
- Proficient with personal computers and relevant operational software.
- Strong team spirit and collaboration abilities.
- Capable of problem-solving and sound decision-making under pressure.
- Ability to operate efficiently under strict deadlines.
