This role supports a client focused on Solar PV and renewable energy projects, with positions available in Africa (Zimbabwe, Morocco, Kenya).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical assistance for market development through preliminary site surveys and prep of pre-feasibility reports.
- Provide hands-on technical support during EPC construction phases and ensure swift resolution of onsite technical challenges.
- Develop and uphold technical standards for equipment; assist in procurement-related equipment selection.
- Offer technical consultancy on photovoltaic electrical systems and aid in devising electrical engineering solutions.
- Verify site conditions during construction and manage necessary engineering design modifications.
- Design electrical systems related to solar PV and energy storage projects; offer expert consultation on engineering designs.
- Prepare construction and as-built drawings; critically review submissions from external design institutes and equipment manufacturers.
- Coordinate and implement engineering design adjustments where required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Automation, Photovoltaic Power Generation Technology, Electrical Engineering, Optical Information Science, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in the solar PV and energy storage sectors, with comprehensive knowledge of technical standards and industry regulations.
- Strong expertise in both high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Experience designing photovoltaic systems, substations, power distribution networks, or similar industrial electrical frameworks.
- Preferred experience supporting integrated rooftop PV systems on steel structures.
- Capability to conduct on-site surveys and produce detailed electrical solution documentation and technical tenders.
- Understanding of project, construction site, and quality management.
- Demonstrates responsibility, diligence, and a willingness to travel extensively.
