Solutions Architect

Role Overview

As a Solutions Architect at Databricks in Singapore, you will be responsible for defining and driving the technical strategy for customer engagements. You will lead architecture discussions, promote platform adoption, and act as a trusted expert advisor to customers' technical leaders and architects. You will develop a recognized technical specialization within your team and contribute to customers’ data and AI strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end technical strategy for accounts, from discovery through production deployment and organic usage growth.
• Lead complex architectural design involving scalable, production-ready solutions in data engineering, machine learning/AI, and real-time analytics.
• Act as a trusted advisor to customer architects, technical leads, and directors.
• Drive competitive technical wins by showcasing Databricks’ unique and custom-built solutions.
• Develop a focused technical specialty (e.g., real-time streaming, ML/AI, data governance) and become a team resource for that domain.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams—including DSAs, SSAs, and partners—to deploy comprehensive customer solutions.
• Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and market gaps to influence Databricks’ product roadmap.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum six years’ experience in solution architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or senior hands-on technical roles.
• Extensive coding skills in Python and SQL, including demonstrated abilities in live coding, debugging, and building solutions.
• Strong knowledge of distributed data systems architecture, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse concepts, and cloud-native platforms.
• Proficiency with the Databricks platform or quick ability to attain it, along with a growing technical specialization in an archetype domain.
• Proven capability to lead architecture discussions involving senior stakeholders through whiteboarding and design reviews.
• Hands-on experience deploying production workloads on public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), including infrastructure, security, and governance.
• Track record of increasing platform adoption and usage within customer accounts.
• Exceptional communication skills enabling translation of complex technical architectures into business value for diverse audiences, from technical to executive.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant quantitative disciplines or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications on Databricks (Data Engineer, ML, Platform).
• Experience with competing platforms such as Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse, with an understanding of competitor positioning.
• Background working in data/AI-focused companies or cloud providers.
• Domain expertise in sectors like Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Media.
