About the Role
We are collaborating with one of Australia's leading technology firms to recruit two skilled Solution Designers for their Enterprise & Solutions Architecture team. This role involves delivering hands-on solution design within a major, long-term program. You will be entrusted with transforming both business and technical needs into scalable and resilient technical solution designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Design comprehensive end-to-end technical solutions aligned with project goals.
- Create detailed UML and architectural diagrams to articulate system designs.
- Author thorough Solution Design Documents to guide development teams.
- Develop solutions based on event-driven and microservices architecture patterns.
- Leverage AWS cloud services to enhance solution capabilities.
- Assess technological options to ensure alignment with architectural and project criteria.
- Collaborate closely with software engineering, architectural, and quality assurance teams.
- Provide ongoing support to development teams during the implementation phase.
- Address technical and design issues as solutions transition into production environments.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in UML and technical diagramming techniques.
- Experienced with modeling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, PlantUML, Lucidchart, or equivalents.
- Strong knowledge of event-driven and microservices architectural design approaches.
- Hands-on expertise with AWS cloud services and infrastructure.
- Demonstrable ability to design end-to-end technical solutions based on business requirements.
- Effective collaborator with software engineering teams to translate designs into implemented solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS architecture certification(s).
- Experience with Azure or multi-cloud environments.
- Existing clearance or eligibility for Australian Government security clearance.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is technically proficient and autonomous, with strong communication skills and the ability to confidently engage with technical stakeholders. You should be able to take full ownership of design work within a complex technological landscape.
Additional Information
- Salary range: $130,000 to $160,000 base per annum plus superannuation and bonus.
- Work locations include Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, or Sydney with hybrid working arrangements.
- Australian citizenship is a mandatory requirement due to security clearance needs.
