Role Overview
This full-time, on-site position based in Tauranga involves installing residential solar energy systems. Responsibilities include mounting solar panels, cabling, configuring inverters, and ensuring installations adhere to design specifications and safety standards. The installer will engage daily with hand and power tools, perform work on rooftops, assist in site assessments, collaborate with electricians and team members, and maintain safe, clean work areas. The role also involves providing courteous service to customers, supporting troubleshooting, performing maintenance, and assisting with system upgrades when necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Demonstrated hands-on knowledge of solar power systems, ideally within the solar industry or similar sectors.
- Competent and safe use of hand and power tools for installation tasks.
- Physically fit with comfort and experience working at heights and outdoors while following strict safety protocols.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings, plans, and installation instructions accurately.
- Strong communication skills and a cooperative team-oriented mindset.
- Possession of relevant trade or technical certifications (such as electrical, construction, or solar installation) is advantageous.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for traveling between job locations.
- Previous experience in residential construction, roofing, or renewable energy projects will be considered beneficial.
