Operations Manager - Solar Projects

Overview

Renergy Systems India Pvt. Ltd., a Kerala-based renewable energy provider, seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee comprehensive operations of rooftop solar and other solar projects. The role focuses on managing activities from project initiation through commissioning and final delivery, ensuring high-quality and timely completion across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle operations of rooftop solar and installation projects from handover to commissioning and closure.
• Schedule and monitor manpower, materials, equipment, transportation, and site requirements to streamline project execution.
• Lead coordination among Project Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, Installation, Procurement, Sales, and Accounts teams.
• Manage several project locations ensuring effective resource utilization across sites.
• Ensure projects adhere to timelines, budget constraints, quality benchmarks, and customer expectations.
• Coordinate surveys, material planning, installation, testing, commissioning, documentation, and project turnover.
• Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, electrical contractors, transporters, and external partners for smooth operations.
• Maintain material availability by working closely with purchasing and stores teams to avoid delays.
• Enforce strict adherence to electrical and rooftop safety standards, PPE protocols, and company policies.
• Perform frequent site inspections to address operational, technical, manpower, quality, and execution challenges.
• Keep detailed reports on project status, site progress, material usage, manpower deployment, commissioning results, and handover deliverables.
• Manage customer interactions by resolving project-related issues and complaints promptly.
• Monitor project expenditures and work to minimize wastage, rework, downtime, and operational costs.
• Develop daily and weekly operational plans; provide regular project performance updates to leadership.
• Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), operational frameworks, quality standards, manpower strategies, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Lead, motivate, and evaluate the performance of operations and installation teams to enhance productivity and project outcomes.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 7 to 10 years of proven professional background specifically in solar energy, rooftop solar projects, or related fields.
• Experience in solar project execution, EPC operations, rooftop solar installations, and site management is highly preferred.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Mechanical Engineering, or allied disciplines.
• Strong practical expertise in rooftop solar installation, electrical system operations, project execution phases including testing and commissioning.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project sites, coordinate various teams, vendors, subcontractors, and interface effectively with customers.
• Excellence in leadership, strategic planning, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with the Kerala rooftop solar market, DISCOM processes, relevant electrical regulations, and local project execution standards will be beneficial.
