In the role of Software Specialist focused on Developer Platforms at ASB Bank, you will be instrumental in enhancing the platforms, tools, and automation systems that empower software teams to perform optimally. Team Environment

You will be part of the Digital Workplace Platform team within ASB's Digital & Engineering Practice. This team manages essential infrastructure and tools that enable engineering units to build and release software efficiently and securely. Technologies include source control, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, automation, and developer tooling, spanning GitHub Enterprise to Kubernetes platforms.

Role Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop GitHub Enterprise and related developer platform services.
• Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
• Engage with engineering teams to gather needs and convert them into scalable technical designs.
• Facilitate platform adoption and maximize value from engineering tools.
• Support cloud-native solutions and container orchestration environments like Kubernetes.
• Implement automation to improve software delivery speed and reliability.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and guidance for developer platforms.
• Collaborate with platform teams and stakeholders to drive continuous enhancements.
• Contribute to platform architecture, documentation, and share knowledge with peers.
• Identify opportunities for process simplification, enhanced developer experience, and increased automation.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proficiency with GitHub Enterprise and modern source control strategies.
• Experience building and managing GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
• Background in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability, or Cloud Engineering.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container-based platforms.
• Track record in supporting and enhancing developer tools and engineering platforms.
• Knowledge of DevOps architectures, automation frameworks, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to resolve complex technical issues and influence cross-team outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with self-hosted runners and secret management systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Bicep.
• Software development skills, especially in C# or comparable languages.
• Design and implementation experience around developer self-service features.
• Demonstrated success improving developer experience or platform adoption.
• Knowledge of AI-powered engineering tools and emerging technologies.
• Mentorship or coaching experience for engineering colleagues.
