Role Overview
As a Core Network DevOps Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and operational support of our Core Mobile and Fixed Data Network DevOps domains around the clock. Your contributions will enhance network capabilities and performance, driving continual improvements in customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop precise, cost-efficient network designs appropriate for medium to high complexity systems, considering full end-to-end effects.
- Define essential capacity and performance indicators while creating robust management processes and reporting for platforms and domains.
- Participate in the formulation of platform/domain roadmaps and network strategies, overseeing their implementation and acceptance.
- Conduct peer reviews of both low-level and high-level network designs to ensure quality and consistency.
- Guarantee all implementation activities adhere to change management protocols and quality standards.
- Deliver network updates punctually and within budget constraints while preserving network integrity.
- Ensure all changes pass required acceptance testing prior to live deployment.
- Address incidents meeting operational SLA criteria and contribute to 24/7 on-call rotations.
- Create and apply processes, procedures, automation, and AI-driven workflows geared towards enhancing operational effectiveness.
- Maintain network stability via a comprehensive maintenance program.
Required Skills and Experience
- Deep expertise in Core Data DevOps platforms and technologies, including Mobile Data Core, Fixed Data Core, and Mobile Signalling.
- Familiarity with related domains such as mobile registers, IMS, fixed voice, messaging systems, virtual and container infrastructures, IP transport, security, and enterprise technology.
- Solid understanding of 3GPP and ETSI industry standards.
- Experience with automation frameworks and proficiency in scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience working with virtualized and containerized platforms like VMware, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat OpenStack, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Competency in employing CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation, for instance with Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices and Agile methodologies.
- Exceptional communication abilities, adept at stakeholder engagement and performing under pressure.
- Capability to excel within a high-performance team, sharing expertise in platform and core domain areas.
