About the Role
Join one of the world's most advanced quantitative trading firms located in London, operating cutting-edge technology at global scale. This position involves hands-on engineering focused on developing security solutions to safeguard complex and high-performance systems. It requires a software engineering approach to security challenges rather than traditional security analysis or penetration testing.
Responsibilities
- Create and enhance internal security infrastructure and tools.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.
- Advance threat detection and security monitoring capabilities.
- Implement layered security controls and defense mechanisms.
- Participate in gathering requirements, designing architectures, prototyping, and developing security solutions.
- Support diverse security and compliance initiatives.
- Enhance core security systems including authentication and authorization frameworks.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in computer science and software development principles.
- Proficient in at least one statically typed programming language.
- Keen interest or experience in security-related engineering challenges.
- Solid understanding of systems, infrastructure, and software construction.
- Ability to produce clean, maintainable, and reliable code.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills within engineering teams.
- Quick learner with attention to detail and capacity to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Golang development; prior Go experience not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Python scripting.
- Security-oriented personal projects or contributions to research, blogs, or open-source software.
- Participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions.
- Relevant security certifications such as OSCP.
- Experience developing security tooling or secure infrastructure.
Compensation and Work Arrangement
This position is based in London and requires working onsite four days a week. Total compensation ranges between £200,000 and £250,000 annually, with potential flexibility for outstanding candidates.
