Role Overview

As a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer specializing in DevOps, you will engage with cutting-edge cloud platforms like AWS and GCP to develop automation tools that maintain and support engineering environments. You will collaborate closely with Platform Engineering to deploy and verify system changes efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement infrastructure and automation supporting a distributed system architecture.
• Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for faster, more reliable deployments.
• Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks at infrastructure and application levels.
• Partner with the engineering team to uphold stringent service level objectives and agreements.
• Maintain scalable, highly available web and backend systems handling thousands of requests per second and millions of users.
• Work with developers to provision and configure cloud services on AWS supporting new feature rollouts.
• Ensure infrastructure security both at the cloud IAM level and application PKI layer.
• Build and expand monitoring and alerting systems integrating internal solutions with third-party SaaS tools.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code practices to fully support the platform.
• Create tools that boost developer productivity and streamline workflows.
• Lead automation initiatives to minimize manual effort and operational overhead.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years experience in DevOps roles.
• At least 5 years managing databases such as Postgres, MariaDB, or MSSQL.
• 4+ years orchestrating large-scale microservices deployments on Kubernetes and EC2.
• 4+ years building and operating EKS clusters with deep familiarity in the Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience managing large-scale systems.
• Extensive proficiency with AWS services, including multi-region Terraform deployments.
• Strong software development skills in Python, TypeScript, Go, or Bash focused on automation.
• Advanced Kubernetes and Docker expertise including implementing Service Mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd for traffic control and resilience.
• Experience scaling and troubleshooting highly available databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis) alongside messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS.
• Competence in developing monitoring and logging infrastructures using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch and integrating secure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab CI.
• Deep troubleshooting and optimization skills spanning networking through application layers.
• Infrastructure as Code and containerized microservices deployments with a security-first mindset.
