About Dyson

Dyson's Software Test & Quality Assurance team ensures the products embody the distinguished quality and reliability synonymous with the Dyson brand by applying advanced automated testing techniques. These include simulating product components to test diverse scenarios and deploying image recognition or cutting-edge methods to automatically identify UI elements. Quality is monitored and upheld throughout the Scaled Agile Framework development cycle by Quality Management System specialists, incorporating customer feedback to enhance future products. Testing facilities support unattended evaluation of partial to complete products, including moving robots, enabling remote operation.

Role Overview

  • Assist in designing and executing test cases for embedded software applications.
  • Conduct functional, integration, and regression tests on embedded software systems under senior engineers' guidance.
  • Develop skills in scripting and running automated tests utilizing various tools and frameworks.
  • Help document, track, and troubleshoot software defects, collaborating toward prompt resolution.
  • Engage in code reviews to understand and improve testability and test coverage.
  • Participate in exploratory and reliability testing activities of embedded software components.
  • Adhere to established software testing standards and methodologies.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Fundamental knowledge of software testing principles, methods, and best practices.
  • Familiar with programming languages commonly employed in embedded system testing, such as Python and Java.
  • Exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS) and device drivers is advantageous.
  • Some practical or academic experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and precision.
  • Effective at communicating and collaborating within team settings.
  • Quick learner with the ability to contribute efficiently in a cooperative environment.
