About Dyson's Test and Quality Assurance Team

Dyson's Software Test & Quality Assurance team is dedicated to maintaining the superior quality and dependability associated with the Dyson brand through the adoption of cutting-edge automated testing techniques. Their work may include simulating product components to enable comprehensive scenario testing, employing image recognition, or utilizing advanced technologies to automatically detect UI elements. Quality is preserved and improved throughout the Scaled Agile Framework development process, with input from Quality Management System professionals and feedback from customer communications. The team operates remote testing labs capable of unattended testing of products ranging from components to full systems, such as moving robots.

Role Overview

• Assist in the creation and execution of test cases targeting embedded software applications.
• Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing on embedded software with guidance from senior engineers.
• Develop proficiency in authoring and running automated test scripts utilizing diverse tools and frameworks.
• Help identify, document, track software defects and participate in troubleshooting and resolving problems.
• Engage in code reviews to enhance understanding of test coverage and improve testability.
• Participate in exploratory and reliability testing activities for embedded software systems.
• Adhere to established software testing methodologies and processes.

Candidate Profile

• Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Fundamental knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and techniques.
• Familiarity with programming languages frequently used in embedded system testing, such as Python and Java.
• Some exposure to real-time operating systems (RTOS) and device drivers is advantageous.
• Experience or coursework involving automated testing frameworks and tools.
• Strong analytical thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities.
• High attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Quick learner with the capacity to work well within collaborative team environments.
