The Production Engineering group is responsible for ensuring the reliability, resilience, scalability, and performance of Figma’s products and infrastructure. We seek an experienced software engineer to lead initiatives that enhance production engineering capabilities, empowering product teams to deliver features swiftly and reliably. This role is crucial for supporting growth, innovation, and smooth operations across engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to establish standards and objectives related to system reliability, durability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop tools and services that mitigate common operational challenges through enhanced telemetry and automation.
- Troubleshoot production incidents spanning multiple services and technology layers.
- Participate in reviews concerning the design and production readiness of new features, products, and infrastructure elements.
- Strategically plan infrastructure growth to support scale.
- Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years operating large-scale infrastructure components and services, with a solid foundation in Computer Science principles and interest in distributed systems.
- Proficient experience managing cloud infrastructure, especially within AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
- Demonstrated steadfast dedication to operational security and adherence to best practices.
- Proven capability in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues in multifaceted systems.
