Software Engineer, Portfolio Engine - Splunk Cloud Products

Role Overview

This position based in Sydney is for a Software Engineer within the Portfolio Engine team at Cisco, focused on managing the commercial and entitlement lifecycle of Splunk's cloud offerings. The team is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining backend systems that keep track of customer ownership, ensure correct product delivery, and synchronize commercial data across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain backend services and APIs that handle customer subscriptions, entitlements, and the commercial state of Splunk's cloud products.
• Participate in building automated systems for order intake, validation, and fulfillment servicing diverse channels and products.
• Break down intricate challenges into manageable tasks for yourself and the team.
• Seek continuous improvements in workflow, tooling, and engineering methodologies for the team.
• Engage actively in collaborative design discussions and code reviews to ensure quality delivery.
• Contribute to platform reliability through participation in on-call rotations addressing critical customer issues outside normal hours.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years related experience, or a Master’s degree with no experience required.
• Fundamental understanding of backend engineering concepts, including knowledge or exposure to programming languages such as Go, Python, or similar technologies.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly articulate complex technical ideas.
