Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates a strong drive to create solutions where no clear precedent exists and enjoys discovery over certainty.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a closely related field by summer 2027, or equivalent experience.
  • A maximum of 18 months of professional experience (excluding internships) for new graduates.
  • Programming experience gained through coursework or side projects, with familiarity in languages such as Java, Ruby, JavaScript, Scala, and Go; aptitude to learn new languages given a strong foundation.
  • Experience collaborating on multi-person coding projects in academic or professional environments.
  • Strong ability to independently research and comprehend new systems, supported by mentorship or expert guidance.
  • Effective written communication skills suitable for engaging diverse stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Competence in using AI tools to enhance development while rigorously evaluating outputs with critical thinking and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in one or more specialized technology areas such as frontend, backend, or infrastructure, balanced with broad technical knowledge.
  • Understanding of code review processes and safe practices for updating production systems.
  • Experience working within large-scale codebases.
  • History of leading small projects independently and supporting larger initiatives collaboratively.
  • Capability to operate autonomously in resolving complex technical issues, knowing when to self-solve and when to seek assistance.
