Team and Technology

The SWIFT Infrastructure Technology group manages firm-wide connectivity to significant market infrastructures including SWIFT and CLS. This team operates middleware messaging and API applications handling millions of financial messages and trillions in payments daily, interfacing with hundreds of internal business units globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver software development solutions by designing, building, and resolving technical challenges beyond conventional practices to produce scalable systems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production software and maintain synchronous algorithms.
• Utilize enterprise-approved AI-assisted coding tools to enhance code quality, accelerate delivery, and boost productivity, ensuring outputs are validated through thorough peer reviews, automated testing, and adherence to secure coding standards.
• Employ software development lifecycle tools, including AI-driven automation, to maximize automation benefits.
• Create architectural and design documentation for complex applications, ensuring compliance with design requirements throughout the coding process.
• Analyze and synthesize large, varied data sets to generate insightful visualizations and reports aimed at continuously improving software systems.
• Identify underlying issues and data patterns proactively to refine coding practices and improve system architectures.
• Configure and manage SWIFT products such as SWIFT Alliance Gateway, Alliance Access, Web Platform, Domestic Messaging Channel services, and CLS-based applications.
• Automate testing and deployment processes to support continuous integration, continuous delivery, and stable operations.
• Foster positive collaboration within your team and across business units to facilitate cross-functional cooperation.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Formal education or certification in software engineering principles with practical applied experience.
• Proven hands-on experience in system design, software development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
• Proficiency in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within large corporate environments using modern programming and database query languages.
• Expertise in Core Java and Python programming, with familiarity in XML libraries.
• Strong knowledge of MQ middleware suitable for enterprise messaging solutions.
• Solid understanding and application of PL/SQL in data-centric software development.
• Competence in UNIX systems and shell scripting.
• Comprehensive awareness of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies including CI/CD, resiliency, and security standards.
• Exposure to payments, clearing systems, and financial messaging, with emphasis on SWIFT protocols.
• Experience utilizing enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, coupled with the ability to critically assess and refine AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security.
• Understanding responsible AI usage principles in engineering processes, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to system resiliency and security, with capacity to mentor peers on best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related technical discipline.
• Experience contributing within agile and scrum frameworks, particularly in distributed teams.
• Familiarity with configuring and implementing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software packages.
• Certifications related to AWS and Terraform technologies.
• In-depth understanding of distributed infrastructure and high availability clustering technologies.
