About the Role
Join GN Group as a Software Engineer II and contribute to the advancement of our gaming software platforms, SteelSeries GG and Nahimic. As a team passionate about esports and gaming, we create innovative hardware and software that empower gamers of all levels. Your Responsibilities
- Accelerate the evolution of SteelSeries GG and Nahimic by designing, developing, and releasing impactful software features and enhancements.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including Firmware, Driver, DSP, QA, UX, and Product Management to ensure seamless and integrated experiences.
- Maintain high standards through code ownership, writing robust tests, engaging in code reviews, and improving overall codebase quality.
- Participate actively in agile development processes, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.
- Provide technical input on hardware integration and device communication protocols.
- Drive quality improvements via refactoring, automation, and reduction of technical debt.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years in software engineering roles, demonstrating solid experience.
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET development ecosystems.
- Expertise in Windows desktop application frameworks such as UWP, WinUI, or WPF.
- Deep understanding of software architecture paradigms, especially MVVM, and experience with XAML-based UI design.
- Practical knowledge of source control tools like Git and GitHub focused on collaboration and code quality.
- Skilled in writing unit and integration tests and troubleshooting complex software issues.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate within cross-functional Agile teams.
- Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies and engineering best practices.
- Preferred: Experience related to Windows audio APIs, multimedia or consumer electronics, ReactJS or modern web technologies, CI/CD and DevOps practices, C++ programming, Microsoft Store deployment, and AI-assisted coding tools.
Growth Path
- First month: Acclimate to technology stacks, team processes, and development tools; deliver your initial bug fixes or feature enhancements.
- Within three months: Take on new feature development, deepen collaboration, and contribute to improving software stability and user experience.
- By nine months: Architect complex features independently, lead quality improvements, explore innovative tools including AI-assisted development, and resolve multifaceted software-hardware issues.
