About the Role
Our client, based in Dublin, is searching for a seasoned Full Stack Engineer to contribute to the expansion of a data-centric technology platform. This role involves collaboration with engineering, data science, product, and machine learning teams to develop backend services, APIs, cloud data pipelines, and front-end features supporting a forecasting product.
Primary Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and scale backend services and RESTful APIs.
- Take full responsibility for software systems/features from design through production and ongoing support.
- Develop and enhance cloud-based data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
- Build comprehensive services integrating APIs, data workflows, databases, and cloud deployment environments.
- Contribute to modern web application development and the broader technology stack as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver feature enhancements.
- Advance cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and engineering tools.
- Design secure, reliable, and maintainable applications to support increasing customer demand.
- Optimize application scalability, performance, and system stability.
- Influence technical architecture choices and promote best engineering practices.
- Engage in code reviews and automated testing as part of continuous integration and delivery processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least two years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Proficiency in developing production-grade applications using Python.
- Solid foundation in computer science principles, software engineering, and system design.
- Demonstrated ownership of an end-to-end software system or significant feature from inception to deployment.
- Hands-on experience creating data pipelines in cloud environments such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong understanding of backend development, RESTful API design, and modern software architecture.
- Familiarity with relational databases and designing scalable systems.
- Practical expertise with CI/CD workflows, version control, testing, and deployment.
- Capability to design and deploy dependable software balancing quality with business needs.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage complex technical challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, especially in cross-disciplinary teams.
- Willingness to contribute across the full technology stack; advanced front-end skills not mandatory.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Experience using monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
- Understanding of authentication, security, and production-level application design.
- Exposure to MLOps, machine learning systems, or data-intensive applications.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, serverless computing, or near real-time processing.
- Background working in startup, scale-up, SaaS, or product-driven tech companies.
- Evidence of technical passion such as open-source contributions, hackathons, or noteworthy personal projects.
- Aspiration for technical leadership roles as the team expands.
Education Requirements
A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred. Equivalent professional experience with proven software engineering competence will also be considered.
