Software Engineer, Agentic Applications

About the Role

This position is based in Singapore as an on-site, full-time opportunity within the Engineering department at StartX Med. You will work on Simular's flagship cross-platform desktop client that serves as the primary interface for users to engage with our AI agents. Although initially appearing as a chat interface, the application encompasses symbolic code generation, debugging capabilities, execution panels, and more. We strive to deliver an experience that is as streamlined and refined as the top productivity software.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership and advance our cross-platform desktop application as well as future client platforms, designing user-friendly and elegant interfaces for tasks such as interacting with AI agents, editing code, and task management.
• Investigate and develop new interaction techniques that make complex AI tools feel straightforward and intuitive for users.
• Operate across different layers, from the visible user interface to integration with native system APIs where necessary.
• Potentially expand your role to include mobile or web applications, overseeing an entire product section end-to-end, including UI, business logic, backend-for-frontend (BFF) APIs, and backend services when required.

Desired Profile

• Experience creating visually appealing and highly usable applications with a deep commitment to user experience.
• Familiarity with desktop application frameworks, web or mobile technologies, or native APIs, demonstrating flexibility across diverse technology stacks.
• A portfolio of side projects or personal ventures demonstrating design sensibility and independent ownership.
• A passion for both intricate design details and substantial technical challenges.
• Additional advantages include a portfolio of design-centric applications, experience integrating web and native platforms, or previous work on developer tools or productivity software.
