About the Role
Join the Canberra team of a leading global micromobility enterprise dedicated to creating a sustainable, accessible, and affordable shared transportation future. As an Operations Associate, you will manage and improve the fleet operations, coordinate warehouse and field teams, and serve as the primary on-site liaison to understand and meet the needs of local riders. This full-time on-site position also includes quarterly travel to support expansion efforts in the Hobart market.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and mentor mechanics and fleet support staff who manage the deployment and retrieval of electric shared vehicles.
- Establish a secure, regulation-compliant, and efficient warehouse environment to maintain an operational fleet in Canberra.
- Develop and implement new processes and operational best practices to enhance warehouse performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on operations initiatives aimed at identifying and executing regional growth opportunities.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to market profitability, revenue, and operational effectiveness.
- Manage complaints and conduct investigations into customer incidents.
- Work closely with government relations to address legal, regulatory, and safety concerns.
- Foster strong relationships with customers, city officials, employees, and company leadership.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to spearhead local projects that drive revenue growth.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 1 year and up to 3 years of professional experience, preferably with at least 1 year in an operations role.
- Prior leadership experience overseeing teams or groups is advantageous.
- Deep familiarity with the Canberra area and an ability to proactively identify operational challenges and requirements.
- A resilient, entrepreneurial mindset capable of thriving in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- Energetic self-starter with strong decision-making skills grounded in data analysis and cost efficiency.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Working knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets; bonus points for experience with Tableau and SQL, with the ability to analyze and derive insights from data.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Additional Information
This position is based in Canberra and entails physical presence during standard business hours in a warehouse setting. The role includes support for the newly launched Hobart market with travel required approximately every quarter.
