Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer specializing in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to join our Martech Engineering team in Dublin, Ireland. This role plays a key part in developing, leading, and scaling our digital platform, specifically supporting PlayStation.com and internal as well as consumer-facing web applications. The successful candidate will engage comprehensively in the software development lifecycle—covering analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment—and collaborate closely with architects, developers, quality engineers, and DevOps teams. Responsibilities include timely delivery of solutions, issue escalation, and providing technical mentorship through code reviews, workshops, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development, design, testing, and deployment of AEM Assets and Sites alongside Adobe Marketing Cloud tools.
• Introduce innovative strategies or concepts that significantly impact project development.
• Provide expert knowledge in AEM, with working familiarity with Adobe Target and Analytics.
• Implement web best practices emphasizing user experience, SEO, A/B testing, and performance optimization.
• Maintain strong coding standards to improve code efficiency, readability, and reuse.
• Debug and troubleshoot code to resolve issues, suggest improvements, and maintain existing projects.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Ensure adherence to best practices and quality standards through rigorous code and design reviews.
• Apply an AI-first approach to experimentation, rapidly iterating technical proof-of-concepts and assessing business outcomes.
• Work closely with Product Owners to align technical deliverables with business requirements and processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering.
• 6 to 8 years of progressive experience with AEM Content Management and developer tools.
• In-depth understanding of AEM building blocks: templates, components, dialogs, widgets, and bundles.
• Familiar with AI-driven technologies to enhance code quality and development processes.
• Experience with Experience fragments, Content fragments, and Single Page Applications (SPA).
• Proficient in migrating AEM Sites and Assets to AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS), including planning and execution.
• Able to refactor legacy AMS code to ensure compatibility with cloud features and quality gates.
• Knowledgeable in Java/J2EE, JSP, Sling, web services, JUnit, MVC frameworks, Eclipse, and Maven.
• Experienced with Adobe Experience Cloud implementations, especially AEMaaCS and Edge Delivery Services.
• Skilled in JCR suite, Sling web framework, and Apache Felix OSGi framework.
• Familiarity with automation tools such as Jenkins, automated unit testing, Maven, SonarQube, Jira, and GitHub.
• Working knowledge of web servers and infrastructure including Tomcat, Apache HTTP, and CDNs like Akamai.
• Competent in integrating APIs, handling JSON, and managing system-to-system data flows.
• Proficient with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ReactJS.
• Understanding of search engines, middleware integrations, and load balancing techniques.
• Ability to identify and resolve application performance and scalability challenges.
• Experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
• Strong skills in technical documentation and collaboration across distributed teams.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience managing projects using tools like Jira or Asana.
• Expertise in AEM Cloud migration processes.
• Knowledge of Algolia Search integration.
• Certification as an Adobe Certified Expert (AEM Developer or Architect) is desirable.
• Experience with web app frameworks such as React, NextJS, and NodeJS.
• A passion for gaming and video game culture.

Compensation & Benefits

SIE offers a competitive salary range for this position, estimated between €69,500 and €104,300 EUR annually, depending on individual factors such as experience, skills, and location. This role includes eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package featuring paid vacation, wellness programs, and employee discounts on Sony products. Additionally, a performance-based bonus may be awarded.
