Role Overview

We seek a highly motivated and seasoned Software Development Manager to oversee a large, geographically distributed software engineering team based in Limerick. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background delivering enterprise-grade SaaS solutions with strong technical expertise, influencing system architecture and design, and prioritizing software quality management in a process and metric-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead people, processes, and metrics to deliver a superior quality SaaS product to a discerning market.
• Collaborate with Product Management to define clear tactical and strategic development backlogs.
• Manage priorities effectively to balance delivery of new features, defect resolution, and technical debt reduction.
• Recruit, mentor, and inspire multiple high-performing engineering teams across different locations.
• Employ data-driven approaches to evaluate impact and continuously optimize engineering workflows.
• Coordinate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure timely delivery of quality results within project deadlines.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
• At least 10 years of experience managing software development projects.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct leadership in delivering complex software initiatives using standard industry tools.
• Proven success managing teams, complex software projects involving global dependencies, and engaging with international stakeholders.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced setting, balancing customer demands with planned product releases and resource constraints.
• Experience with software quality assurance and test automation systems.
• Skilled in agile software development management and applying metrics-driven quality and release strategies.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment practices along with SaaS business models.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and implementation strategies.
