Software Architect

Overview

We are looking for a talented and driven Software Architect to join our Architecture team at AMCS Group, based in Dublin. This role offers the chance to shape the design and structure of our cloud platform by using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. You will collaborate extensively with business unit Engineering and Product teams to ensure our solutions align with our architectural vision, providing enterprise-grade software at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to craft the Product Roadmap and technical enablers.
• Lead the delivery of a secure, cost-effective, resilient, scalable, and high-performance cloud platform.
• Establish and uphold software architecture standards and industry best practices.
• Design and guide the build of scalable and secure software solutions.
• Effectively communicate non-functional requirements (NFRs) and architectural designs, both verbally and in documentation.
• Identify and work on reducing strategic technical debt within the platform.
• Collaborate actively with development teams to ensure adherence to architectural goals and design principles.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and development processes to maximize product quality.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
• Contribute hands-on to developing core platform packages and template projects.
• Stay informed about emerging technological trends to continuously enhance the platform.
• Work closely with Architecture, DevOps, and Platform Engineering to automate deployment workflows, enforce governance, and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Ensure the platform complies with data security, privacy, and applicable policies and standards.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a Software, Technical, or Solution Architecture capacity.
• Strong grasp of cloud-native architecture principles and design patterns.
• Experience designing and building scalable distributed enterprise systems capable of handling high traffic volumes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and motivation to tackle complex technical problems.
• Expertise in the Microsoft technology stack including .NET (C#), Web API, Azure services such as Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, Application Insights, Key Vault, Azure Front Door, Azure DevOps, and related infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform offerings like GKE, Postgres, and Cloud Functions.
• Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks including Angular and React.
• Comprehensive understanding of the software development lifecycle with experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, microservices patterns, and Kafka messaging systems.
• Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Microsoft Azure and .NET certifications are advantageous.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Copilot to boost design and coding efficiency.
• A passion for artificial intelligence technologies and exploring ways to leverage them for accelerated delivery and business value.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent communication, documentation, design skills, and stakeholder management capabilities.
