Overview
Join the AWS In-Memory Databases team and contribute to building cutting-edge in-memory database services such as ElastiCache and MemoryDB. These fully managed databases enable customers to enhance application speed by providing low latency, high throughput NoSQL data solutions compatible with Valkey, Redis OSS, and Memcached.
Role and Responsibilities
As a backend engineer focused on in-memory database technologies, you will leverage your expertise in data storage, distributed computing, and software design to develop scalable, high-performance NoSQL systems. You'll be tasked with designing innovative solutions to ensure sub-millisecond latency at scale and participate in rigorous problem-solving and root cause analysis to improve service reliability. Your role includes occasional daytime on-call duties approximately every 2–3 months.

Basic Qualifications
- Professional experience in software development (non-internship).
- Experience in system design and architecture encompassing design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Hands-on experience with the full software development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
