Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Develop application software for Vehicle Control Units (VCU) and Secondary Control Units (SCU) leveraging Model-Based Design using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Design, implement, and validate software features for electric vehicle (EV) platforms including torque management, contactor controls, charging processes, thermal management, HVIL, safety interlocks, and pre-charge operations.
- Develop and refine control algorithms for AC/DC chargers compliant with CCS2 and ISO 15118 standards, managing meter functions, power throttling strategies, and safety fallback mechanisms.
- Implement communication protocols and diagnostics services such as CAN, CAN FD, UDS (ISO 14229), create message definitions, and enable automated code generation for signal management.
- Develop and execute comprehensive functional test plans for charger and VCU/SCU systems including functional, edge-case, stress testing (network dropouts, power loss, emergency stop scenarios), along with SIL, MIL, HIL testing and firmware debugging.
- Ensure conformance with CCS2/ISO 15118 standards and validate interaction between charger and vehicle systems.
- Maintain ASPICE-compliant documentation covering requirements, architecture, unit design and implementation, integration and testing, verification work products, and ensure traceability for audits.
- Collaborate with hardware, battery, and charger teams alongside certification authorities (ARAI, TUV, ICAT) supporting certification efforts for vehicle systems and EV chargers.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Practical experience in system engineering and control development specifically in the electric vehicle domain.
- Familiarity with electric vehicle applications and integration of related software components.
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics and Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or related disciplines.
