Job description
About the Role
Join us to build a product that manages massive data volumes with ultra-low latency, including features like multi-continent replication, high-speed continuous data streaming, rapid backups, and encryption without loss of performance. Amazon DynamoDB is a NoSQL key-value and document database engineered to deliver single-digit millisecond latency at any scale, supporting petabytes of data and traffic peaks exceeding 20 million requests per second.
As a core, rapidly expanding AWS service, DynamoDB impacts a wide range of global customers including top-tier startups such as Lyft and Airbnb, as well as enterprises like Samsung and Capital One. Our system is among the largest distributed database platforms globally, and we are committed to innovating continuously to enhance its capabilities.
Responsibilities
As a hands-on Software Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development cycle–including gathering requirements, designing solutions, performing design and code reviews, deployment of incremental features, operations, mentoring teammates, and driving constant progress.
You will tackle some of the most challenging engineering problems involving distributed systems at scale, collaborating with talented peers and receiving guidance from senior engineers.
About the Team and Culture
The AWS Utility Computing organization includes services that range from foundational offerings like Amazon S3 and EC2 to IoT and productivity applications. DynamoDB engineers help develop and maintain robust cloud services, alongside dedicated support for customers with specific security needs.
We appreciate diverse career backgrounds and encourage applicants even if not all listed qualifications are fully met. AWS fosters an inclusive culture with employee-led groups, frequent inclusion events, and a commitment to curiosity and collaboration. We offer mentorship, career growth opportunities, and support work-life balance through flexible arrangements.
