Role Overview

We seek an experienced Software Development Director to lead our global engineering teams. This strategic and hands-on leader will spearhead high-impact technical projects and oversee multiple teams delivering scalable, secure, and innovative products used by millions worldwide. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a proven record managing distributed teams while balancing speed with quality and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft and implement engineering strategies aligned with company goals, offering architectural and organizational direction to ensure scalability and long-term success.
• Lead, mentor, and develop several engineering teams, including senior staff and team leads, establishing clear objectives and growth paths within a global and distributed environment.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of products and platform enhancements by continuously refining workflows, development practices, and technical decisions.
• Steer architectural evolution to guarantee scalability, performance, and maintainability while encouraging the adoption of modern technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and executive stakeholders to align priorities, define requirements, and manage a shared roadmap.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development lifecycle promoting best practices in observability, security, testing, and release management.
• Build a high-performance culture emphasizing transparency, continual improvement, accountability, and innovation.

Required Qualifications

• Over 10 years’ experience in software development, including minimum 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success leading large, multifunctional engineering teams in fast-growing, complex environments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of modern system architectures, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and microservices.
• Proficient understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and engineering performance metrics.
• Experience managing distributed and geographically diverse teams at scale.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in critical and high-pressure scenarios.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Willing and able to relocate to Baku, Azerbaijan.

Preferred But Not Required

• Background in gaming, financial technology, or platform-as-a-service sectors.
• Familiarity with payment systems, user-facing APIs, or developer tooling.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Certifications in cloud technologies, Agile frameworks, or technical leadership.
