About the Role

Join the Paragon K8aaS engineering team at Singtel as a Software Developer specializing in backend engineering. This role offers the chance to work on scalable cloud-native backend services, API development, and distributed systems using modern technologies including Java, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage highly scalable backend services and APIs utilizing Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Create and maintain cloud-native applications that run on Kubernetes platforms.
• Implement and support event-driven architectural solutions with Kafka messaging systems.
• Engage in architectural planning and contribute to platform engineering efforts specific to the K8aaS environment.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs), and product management teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in production environments while offering ongoing support.
• Enhance application performance, scalability, reliability, and observability through continuous improvement efforts.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and automation processes.
• Adhere to best coding practices, maintain security standards, and uphold high-quality engineering principles.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in Java development, ideally experienced with Java versions 17 and 21.
• Skilled in Spring Boot development, RESTful API design, and microservices architecture.
• Experienced with Apache Kafka and event-driven design patterns.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes concepts, including Pods, Deployments, Services, Ingress, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and Helm charts.
• Knowledgeable about cloud-native application design, scaling strategies, and resilience techniques.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Preferred Additional Skills

• Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
• Comfortable working within Linux environments and using shell scripting.
• Exposure to frontend development technologies and frameworks is an advantage.
