Role Mission

• Lead the design and ownership of our software's technical architecture, making collaborative and informed architectural decisions.
• Provide technical guidance to development teams and business units by evaluating different methods and delivering pragmatic solutions.
• Integrate expertise in software development with energy sector knowledge to translate functional requirements into robust technical designs.
• Oversee the process from technical concept to live deployment, ensuring architectural decisions are faithfully implemented in the product.
• Act as a technical sparring partner for developers, support complex problem-solving, and co-evolve team technical standards.
• Take ownership of a segment of our energy utility software development, applying experience to continuously enhance our software and procedures.
• Contribute actively to building our area focused on energy providers, with significant scope for initiative.

Qualifications & Experience

• Multiple years of experience in software development, preferably with prior responsibilities as a Software Architect, Technical Lead, or similar role.
• Familiarity with the energy sector, including an understanding of key business processes related to energy suppliers.
• Strong architectural insight to grasp complex technical systems, make sound architectural decisions, and clearly communicate them.
• Excellent advisory skills with the capability to ask pertinent questions and synthesize perspectives as a technical sparring partner.
• A proactive drive for innovation and optimization, questioning existing solutions, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing new ideas.
• Ability to work autonomously with structured decision-making in a high-autonomy environment.
• Desirable skills include experience in product ownership and knowledge of Python, Apache Airflow, Pandas, energy flow forecasting, energy procurement, and intraday trading.
