Role Overview

The Hamilton Family Works team is seeking a Social Worker to be embedded within local schools. Your primary responsibility will involve managing a caseload of families, offering early intervention and preventative social work services to at-risk children, teenagers, and their whanau. You will conduct individual and group sessions using a strengths-based, multi-systemic approach designed to promote positive, enduring change.

Skills and Experience

• Possess a tertiary degree specializing in Social Work
• Valid registration with the Social Workers Registration Board
• Hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle
• Previous experience as a Social Worker or a new graduate with relevant experience working with children
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to build and sustain positive relationships with clients, families, schools, and colleagues
• Professional boundary maintenance, ability to fulfill KPIs, and adherence to practice standards
• Confidence and working knowledge of Tikanga Māori coupled with dedication to collaborating with Tangata Whenua
• Experience specifically working with children within school environments is a significant advantage
