Position Overview
As a Snow Removal Crew Member, you'll be an essential part of our team responsible for ensuring commercial client sites remain safe, accessible, and free from snow and ice throughout the winter season. Shifts are communicated via a mobile app where you confirm availability during snow events. Reliable transportation to assigned job sites in Ottawa Central, Nepean, or Barrhaven is essential, as this position requires direct-to-site attendance at all hours.
Work Schedule and Opportunities
We offer both full winter availability roles with guaranteed hours and part-time or on-call positions for workers seeking flexible shifts. Winter shifts can last up to 12 hours and may occur day or night.
Key Duties
- Remove snow from sidewalks, walkways, entrances, stairs, ramps, and other specified areas
- Apply salt and other de-icing agents as necessary
- Maintain safe and clear access to building entrances, emergency exits, and traffic areas
- Assist with loading, unloading, and management of snow removal equipment and supplies
- Complete assignments efficiently within designated timeframes
- Uphold company quality standards and communicate site issues to supervisors
- Follow all health and safety protocols in challenging winter conditions
- Collaborate effectively with crew leaders and fellow team members during shifts
Qualifications and Requirements
- No prior snow removal experience required; comprehensive training provided
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or other outdoor physical work is advantageous
- Dependable and punctual, especially in confirming availability during snow events
- Reliable transportation to reach assigned locations in Ottawa Central, Nepean, or Barrhaven
- Capable of physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and shoveling for extended periods in cold, windy, snowy, and icy weather
- Willing to work day or night shifts, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours depending on conditions

Additional Information
