Skilled Labourer - Boom Lift Operator

Job Overview

Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation is hiring a Skilled Labourer with Boom Lift Certification for construction projects based in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This full-time role involves working on various construction sites, performing general skilled labour tasks, and operating a boom lift to facilitate work at heights.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate boom lift equipment efficiently and safely in construction settings
• Carry out general skilled labour duties to support construction activities
• Assist tradespeople and fellow crew members as needed
• Perform work at elevated heights while strictly adhering to safety protocols
• Manage loading, unloading, moving, and organizing of materials and tools
• Keep work areas clean and maintain a safe environment
• Follow all site instructions, safety guidelines, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
• Travel among three construction locations within the Sault Ste. Marie region as required
• Undertake additional construction-related tasks assigned

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a valid boom lift certification is mandatory
• Prior experience operating boom lift equipment is required
• Background in construction or skilled labour roles preferred
• Comfortable and confident working at heights
• Ability to operate construction equipment safely in an active site environment
• Physically fit for manual labour including lifting tasks
• Strong commitment to safety and reliability
• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Available to start immediately
• Available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Compensation & Schedule

• Hourly wage ranging from $24 to $27 based on experience
• Standard weekday schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Immediate start date
• Opportunity to work across multiple sites
