Job description
Role Overview
The Site Reliability Engineer position at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. based in Hyderabad involves overseeing and maintaining the reliability and performance of cloud-based applications and infrastructure. The role demands expertise in modern development and deployment frameworks to ensure seamless operation and continuous delivery.
Key Responsibilities and Expertise
- Design, implement, and maintain Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Develop and maintain applications using Java and Java Spring Boot frameworks.
- Manage container orchestration platforms, specifically Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services for cloud infrastructure management.
- Work with Docker containers and microservices architecture to optimize deployment and scaling.
- Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI.
- Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform for automated provisioning and management of infrastructure.
- Operate and troubleshoot Linux/Unix systems and write automation scripts using Shell and Python.
- Implement monitoring and observability solutions with Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health.
- Conduct incident management activities including root cause analysis (RCA) and provide production support to resolve issues efficiently.
