About the Role

A prominent global investment firm, driven by passionate computer scientists, seeks to expand its Site Reliability Engineering team spread across multiple locations. Operating within high-speed financial markets, the group plays a pivotal role in ensuring the dependability, efficiency, and robustness of critical trading and investment platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and oversee the reliability, availability, and performance of live applications.
  • Create automation solutions for monotonous operational tasks and address repeated systemic challenges.
  • Analyze root causes and develop innovative technical remedies for complex issues.
  • Lead incident management efforts, focusing on swift resolution and implementing preventive follow-ups.
  • Advocate and implement Site Reliability Engineering best methods and standards across engineering departments.
  • Grasp comprehensive application behavior, including its business implications.

Candidate Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one contemporary programming language, with preference for Python.
  • Experience utilizing modern software development tools and workflows including testing frameworks, version control systems, continuous integration/delivery, and build automation.
  • Helpful to have knowledge in SQL and database management.
  • Familiarity with web interface technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and React considered an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Flexible, entrepreneurial approach combined with a passion for tackling challenging technical problems.
