About the Role
Join the Intelligence, Safety, and Signals division as a Signals Intelligence Specialist focusing on scrutinizing, identifying, and breaking up global criminal scam operations. You'll collaborate with a well-established team dedicated to law enforcement support within a technology company and use advanced technology to detect malicious online behavior. This role involves extracting strategic insights from large complex datasets and demands a cross-functional approach working across multiple teams to recognize critical trends enhancing platform safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze existing data to uncover extensive networks of malicious actors and fraudulent activities.
- Deliver detailed, researched reports on emerging trends to senior executives and law enforcement partners regularly.
- Lead and innovate in developing, prototyping, implementing, and automating sophisticated analytical methods.
- Leverage current insights and develop new investigative strategies to enhance engagement with law enforcement and reduce real-world risks.
- Assist in building data pipelines and infrastructure to facilitate the creation of informative dashboards.
- Create AI-driven analytic tools and notebooks to empower fellow analysts with enhanced capabilities.
- Manage end-to-end projects including requirements gathering, data processing and modeling, and presenting findings on scam networks and typologies to leadership.
- Advocate for data-informed decision-making through persuasive presentations to cross-functional teams.
- Develop quantitative indicators to extract actionable insights from structured data sources.
- Maintain and expand a network of information resources to stay ahead of emerging significant developments.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum eight years in research and analysis of online harm trends.
- At least two years experience managing relational database systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis involving large databases.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and SQL relevant to AI applications.
- Background in threat intelligence or investigative work in government or tech sectors.
- Experience in communicating complex analyses to varied audiences including senior leaders and policymakers.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning principles.
- Proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to address complex challenges.
- Skills in social network analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated use of AI to improve workflow efficiency and quality outcomes.
- Experience enforcing ethical AI practices including risk and bias assessments.
- Proficient in employing AI tools for detection and enforcement against adversarial networks.
- Understanding of law enforcement legal procedures.
- Experience sharing analytic insights across large organizations.
- Academic degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, computer engineering, or data science.
- Knowledge of fundamental cybersecurity concepts such as TCP/IP and the OSI model.
- Experience tackling financial fraud and scam cases.
- Continuous development of AI skills via advanced techniques and keeping up-to-date with new AI technologies.
- Background in counterterrorism or disruption of organized crime networks.
